Mentorship Program

Mentoring is a professional relationship in which an experienced person (the Mentor) assists another (the Mentee, or protégé) in developing specific skills and knowledge that will enhance the less-experienced person’s professional and personal growth. Thus, it is basically a learning and development partnership between someone with skills and expertise and someone who wants to learn.

The PMI Calumet Chapter Mentoring Program pairs experienced PMP-certified project managers with individuals who are new to the project management profession or looking to expand their knowledge in a specific area. You may ask, “Why have a mentorship program? What’s in it for me as a member, or how can this impact me or my community?“.  Both Mentors and Mentees are asked to identify their personal goals and provide information to assist in the pairing process. This information includes work experience, education, skills and strengths. All information is kept confidential.

PMI Calumet Chapter offers our Mentorship Program to share knowledge and experiences with each other in order to be the best Project Managers we can be. Our successful projects are a positive reflection on you, our chapter and the project management profession. Mentoring is a proven approach to drive rich learning and development for both mentees and mentors.

This mentorship program will engage chapter members as Mentors, Mentees or both.

Whether a young or aspiring professional project manager (Mentee), PMI Calumet Chapter is seeking individuals interested in mentorship from an experienced, certified project professional (Mentor). Meetings are scheduled at your own pace and can be held in person, online or by phone. For Students, this is a great way to help achieve your academic goals, or jump start your career for free!  For Mentors, its a great way to share your knowledge and experiences while practicing communication and coaching skills and earning PDUs!

While getting involved, chapter members can enjoy sharing or
